Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is confident his World Cup dream is not over after discovering that the ankle injury he suffered in Slovakia's 3-0 friendly win over Costa Rica is not serious.
Skrtel was forced to limped out of the match after only 16 minutes and was taken to hospital for scans.
The relieved defender said: "It is not too bad, it is just a gash. I think that in a few days it will be okay."
Of his side's display in his absence, Skrtel added:"I saw the second half.
"I think we will have delighted the fans. We wanted to win this match to put ourselves in a good place before the World Cup. We managed that.
"Perhaps the only negative is my injury, because to go off after quarter-of-an-hour is not nice."
