Southampton boss coy on summer Spurs switch

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is refusing to rule out a move to Tottenham this summer, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Argentinean has impressed since taking over from Nigel Adkins at St Mary’s last year, with a free flowing style combined with blooding young English talent receiving much praise.

Tottenham are set to sack Tim Sherwood at the end of the season and Pochettino is thought to be one of three names they are targeting as a replacement.

Despite the Saints being desperate for him to stay, Pochettino has admitted he doesn’t know where he will be next season with contract talks on hold.

“At the end of the season I will be speaking with the club [regarding a new contract], right now all possibilities are open,” Pochettino said.

“In football I am accustomed to living with these rumours, I have lived with them all my life.

“I am calm. I am focussed on my job which is to get as many points as we can from the last five games. I don’t talk about rumours. I have one more year left on my contract and am focussed on my job.

“Is my future in England? Yes, yes, yes. I would like to be in the Premier League, it is the best in the world and I would like to be here for many years to come.”
