Southampton boss drops hint over future of Man United attacking target

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that he needs to be prepared for when Manchester United target Sadio Mane eventually leaves the club, Express reports.

The 23-year-old completed a move to the club during the summer of 2014, joining from Austrian outfits Red Bull Salzburg for £11.8million.

He was on great form for the Saints last term and once again showcased his class in the 3-1 win over current Premier League champions Chelsea at the weekend.

However, Koeman knows that he may struggle to keep hold of the Senegal international in the future, admitting that he has to be prepared for life without his star forward.

“Ok, maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared,” he said.

“You know in our situation that kind of players if they play like today there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.”

United were said to have tabled a £15million offer for his services during the recent summer window, but were instead told to increase their offer to around the £25million mark.

Mane has already featured 12 times in all competitions for his side this term, scoring a total of five goals while providing a further six assists.
