Southampton boss hopes to secure move for Real Madrid wonderkid

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has sent scouts to watch Martin Odegaard, as he prepares a loan offer for the Real Madrid wonderkid ahead of next season, according to reports from the Mirror.

The 16-year-old was targeted by almost every European elite in the build up to the January window, but finally decided on a move to the Spanish capital.

Koeman was one of the many interested managers hoping they can lure Odegaard to their club, but may now have a better chance by attempting a loan move for the Norwegian attacker.

As a youngster training alongside players the calibre of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, he is yet to make an appearance for the senior squad.

Odegaard has been playing for Real Madrid Castilla since his move, making six appearances so far this season, netting one goal in the process.
