Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has once again revealed the possibility of managing Barcelona in the near future, as he believes he is ready to take charge of an elite European team, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 51-year-old has had an excellent first season in charge of the Saints, following his move from Feyenoord last summer.
His squad was tipped to be fighting for for survival in the bottom half of the league due to many top stars departing the club, but he’s managed to turn everything around.
Koeman has led his team into the battle for a top four finish and despite a few negative results, they are only six points away from Manchester United in fourth.
His successes during the course of the campaign have seen a number of top clubs consider his services, with the Dutch manager admitting that Barcelona is a possible destination.
“I see myself as ready. I have been a coach for a while now and I have been at a few clubs,” he said.
“I think so, yes, because everyone knows what I have had with Barcelona and what Barcelona has with Ronald Koeman.
“Therefore, if one day in the future I can be manager there, I would love it.”
