Manchester United and Southampton have been put on alert as Galatasaray are considering the sale of Wesley Sneijder for a cut-price £9million in the January window, Daily Mail reports.
The 30-year-old was valued at around the £18million region during the summer when he was being linked with a switch to join Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
However, with the Turkish giants struggling with their finances this season, he is likely to be allowed to leave in order to free up the club’s budget.
They now value him at £9million, which is half of the asking price set for him earlier in the campaign with the Saints now joining the Red Devils in chase of the Dutch playmaker.
Sneijder shares a close relationship with the United manager, but with already a large number of midfielders along with the increase in form of Juan Mata, Van Gaal may not need another so called number 10.
