Southampton star Victor Wanyama has revealed that he wants to join Arsenal in the summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 23-year-old was a target for the Gunners earlier in the campaign, but after Francis Coquelin found form, interest in the midfielder went quiet.
Wanyama admitted on a Kenyan TV show that he was consider the chance to complete a move to the Emirates, but is still focused on his football at St Mary’s Stadium..
“It would be nice to move to Arsenal,” he said.
“But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is.”
The Kenya international has been a regular feature for Saints boss Ronald Koeman this term, featuring 34 times in all competitions, managing to find the net on three occasions.
Apart from the midfielder, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is also linked with a move for his teammate, Morgan Schneiderlin.
Schneiderlin has been a long term target for Wenger, but he faces tough competition from Manchester United, who are now said to be in pole position to acquire the services of the France international.
