Southampton star Victor Wanyama has revealed that he has now put his failed summer move to Tottenham Hotspur behind him, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane during the previous window and is said to have even tried to push for a deadline day exit.
However, despite his efforts to leave St Mary’s Stadium, manager Ronald Koeman along with the club board stood firm in their decision to retain his services.
Wanyama has recently come out to admit that he wants to forget about his transfer saga with Spurs as he is currently very happy with his performance at the moment.
“I just don’t want to remember that situation,” he said.
“I’m happy to go in the pitch and forget what happened, so I’m really looking forward to putting good performances for Southampton.”
The Saints are now looking to ensure his stay even longer as they are believed to have begun negotiations in order to tie him down on a new five-year deal.
He featured 38 times in all competitions for his side last term, scoring three goals while providing another one assist.
