Southampton are targeting a move for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to reports from the Mirror.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates the past few weeks, with the England international struggling to play on a regular basis under Arsene Wenger.
And his frustrations have alerted several of the Premier League’s elite clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester United also reportedly keen.
However, ‘The Ox’ is now also a target for Southampton, the team which he played for prior to his move to Arsenal as an up-and-coming youngster.
The 22-year-old left the Saint Mary’s Stadium in a £15million deal back in 2011, and Ronald Koeman is expected to pay around the same amount to lure him back to Southampton.
The Saints even tried a cheeky loan during the January transfer window, but with the Gunners then struggling with injury problems, Oxlade-Chamberlain wasn’t allowed to depart.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 33 appearances in all competition this season mostly coming off the bench, scoring two goals.
