Southampton trio set for new deals

Southampton boss Claude Puel is set to extend the deals of three key players, according to the Daily Echo.

Dusan Tadic, Cedric Soares and Jose Fonte are all to be given new deals to stay at St Mary’s, as the Frenchman prepares for his first season in the Premier League.

They would join a long list of Saints who have signed new deals this summer, with Fraser Forster, Ryan Bertrand, Shane Long, Steven Davis and James Ward-Prowse all doing the same.

Cedric has only finished his first season at the club but is already going to receive a new deal, whilst Jose Fonte is to be rewarded for his loyalty, after joining the club back in January 2010.

Fonte only missed one Premier League game last season, after being sent off in a 1-1 draw with Sunderland. He scored twice last campaign.

Dusan Tadic also had a heavy season, playing in 34 games, scoring 7 goals and assisting a further 12 for his teammates.

The Saints start their new season at home to Watford on August 13th.
