Cesc Fabregas has told friends he would love the opportunity to be reunited with Robin Van Persie at Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard has been at the centre of a prolonged transfer saga, which has seen United have two bids rejected by Barcelona – one of which was in excess of £30million.
United manager David Moyes told a press conference on Thursday that the pursuit of the midfielder was ‘ongoing’, with another bid thought to be imminent.
But the fact Fabregas is thought to have told friends in English football that he is keen to make a return to the Premier League, could give United the impetus they need to force through a deal.
Fabregas is thought to be keen on the idea of regular first team football at Old Trafford, as well as the prospect of linking up with former Arsenal teammate Robin Van Persie once again.
The 26-year-old is also excited by the prospect of being part of a side capable of challenging for the title. with the Spaniard only getting his hands on the FA Cup and Community Shield during his years with Arsenal.
Barcelona have continued to stand firm on the matter by continually declaring Fabregas is not for sale, although the midfielder may now look to finally force through the move himself.
