Spanish champions join Liverpool and Man United in race for Brazilian striker

Liverpool and Manchester United have been alerted by speculation that Barcelona are ready to sign January target Alexandre Pato from Corinthians, Express reports.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan from Sao Paulo and is being linked with a return to Europe after previously playing for Serie A giants AC Milan from 2007 to 2012.

United are believed to have tabled an offer for his services during the summer, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp also said to be keen on his addition.

Apart from the two mentioned sides, Arsenal were also in talks over a potential move for the services of Pato in bids to solve their lack of options up top.

However, the Premier League giants now face heavy competitions from the La Liga champions given that they have now entered the running for the striker.

Barca are being tipped to consider a loan move during the January window as they will also have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the current campaign.
