La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Watford’s Odion Ighalo and will make a £12 million January bid for the strikes according to The Mirror.
The Nigerian centre forward has been a revelation for the newly promoted Hornets this term, scoring goals at will to fire the Vicarage Road outfit into the top half.
Ighalo scored again against Tottenham to take his personal tally to 14 for the season, but could not prevent his side from slipping to a late 2-1 defeat against Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
It is expected that a number of high-profile clubs could well make a move for Ighalo in the January window after his stunning start to 2015-16.
Atletico are believed to be a frontrunner and will test Watford’s resolve with a big-money offer for the forward next month.
The Vicente Calderon side splurged on Colombian hotshot Jackson Martinez in the summer, but the former Porto man has failed to deliver so far since moving to La Liga.
