Sporting Lisbon manager Marcos Silva has revealed that a host of Premier League sides are tracking William Carvalho and will need to wait until January to declare his future, Daily Star reports.
The 22-year-old, who has been targeted by Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea in recent months, is currently regarded as a central midfielder who is tipped to become one of the best in the world.
However, any clubs willing to negotiate a deal will need to trigger his £37million release clause in order to lure him away from the Portuguese giants.
Silva believes it will be hard to keep him at the club due to Carvalho’s desire to play in the Premier League and also he reveals that an number of offers have already been made regarding his transfer.
“William is a target for English teams, but I want him to play his game,” he said.
“He’s not playing at the same level as last season because last season he was a surprise, but he’s improving.
“William has many offers. Let’s wait until January.”
