Tottenham are thought to be the frontrunners to sign Barcelona Ibrahim Afellay on loan, The Daily Mail state.
The Netherlands international has found opportunities at Camp Nou limited since moving to Spain from PSV Eindhoven back in December 2010, and is mostly used as a substitute.
Despite this the talented wideman was part of the Dutch squad for Euro 2012, and featured in a hapless and unsuccessful campaign for the Oranje.
With Afellay available on loan, Liverpool and Arsenal have also been accredited with an interest in the flyer.
However, it is believed that Tito Vilanova’s men have accepted Tottenham’s proposal for Afellay to move to White Hart Lane for the season, with a potential permanent role on the cards next summer if all goes well.
Spurs’ main competitors for the winger’s signature are now thought to be German side Schalke, but the player will decide where he would prefer to play.
