Spurs are still to finalise a deal to sell Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and so all transfers are on hold until chairman Daniel Levy can get the money he wants for the Welsh winger.
However once the deal is complete, Spurs are set to go on a spending spree with centre back Alderweireld and playmaker Eriksen at the top of Villas-Boas’ wish list.
The North London club are looking to secure another top class central defender after the sale of Steven Caulker, release of William Gallas and the debatable fitness of Younes Kaboul and Michael Dawson becoming an issue.
Eriksen has been on Liverpool’s radar for over 18 months now but Spurs are hoping to attract him to White Hart Lane despite storing more than 12 midfielders in their first team squad.
The playmaker has admitted that he would be interested in a move away from Ajax this summer but Tottenham’s £15million double seems ambitious.
“I am prepared to wait. I will only go where my heart wants to go,’’ Eriksen said
“I am patiently waiting what will happen in the next few weeks. But I have said before I only want to go to a club where I feel I can play at my best and which suits my style.’
