Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp does not expect to sign Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole this summer but believes the out-of-contract player will be leaving Stamford Bridge.
Redknapp worked with the 28-year-old when they were together at West Ham United and had expressed a desire to be reunited with a player who was named in Fabio Capello's England 23-man squad for the World Cup finals on Tuesday.
Contract negotiations with the Blues broke down earlier this year and Cole was a peripheral figure in the club's Double winning campaign.
Redknapp said:"I'm a big fan of his but the feedback we've got is that he's already signed for somebody else.
"I've got a feeling he may have agreed a deal with somebody. Certainly in the summer someone is going to make a very good free signing if he doesn't stay at Chelsea.
"I don't think it's going to be Tottenham that sign him but, if he hasn't agreed a deal with somebody and he doesn't stay at Chelsea, then we'd be interested."
Cole has found the net 38 times in 282 appearances for Chelsea in his seven seasons at Stamford Bridge.
