Andre Villas-Boas is planning a move for AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic, reports the London Evening Standard.

The Portuguese is looking to add creativity to his midfield, with last season’s playmaker for the London club Luka Modric close to completing a move to Real Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 34 year old boss is stepping up his attempts to reshape Spurs, with Emmanuel Adebayor brought in yesterday and Michael Dawson likely to follow Sebastien Bassong and Modric out of the club this week.

It is also believed that Yann M’Vila is still on the club’s radar, while Joao Moutinho is still believed to be outside of Villas-Boas’s budget.

Pjanic, 22, was brought to Italian outfit last season for a fee of £8.6 million from Lyon and is valued at £12 million. The Bosnian would seem a good fit for Spurs, the 22 year old has been deployed in a 4-3-3 system at both Lyon and Roma, the former Chelsea manager’s preferred system.

An enquiry has also been made for Adam Johnson, with a deal for Leonardo Damiao also still a priority. Attempts to sign the Brazilian have stalled due to failure to agree a fee with Internacional.
