Stoke and West Ham set for transfer disappointment

Mame Biram Diouf

Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf is happy to stay with the German club despite being linked with a return to the Premier League, as reported by Sky Sports.

The former Manchester United forward has been heavily linked with a move to Stoke City in January with West Ham, Cardiff and Sunderland also interested.

The Senegalese international is out of contract next summer but Hannover are set to offer their star man a hefty new deal to warn off admirers.

Diouf made just nine appearances for United before he was sold to Hannover in January 2012 where he has become one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.

Stoke were quoted in excess of £10million to sign the pacey forward in the summer but despite the striker claiming to be happy in Germany, new boss Mark Hughes is set to go back in with a bid in January.

“I am under contract with Hannover and I like being at the club,” Diouf told kicker-Sportmagazin.

“Hanover is a good place to be. I feel signing for Hannover was the best thing I ever did in my life.”
