Stoke boss eyeing up Manchester City starlet

John Guidetti, Manchester City striker

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is preparing a bid for Manchester City youngster John Guidetti, according to The Sun.

The Swedish striker has failed to make a Premier League appearance for City despite scoring an impressive 20 goals on loan at Dutch club Feyenoord in the 2011-12 season.

Guidetti was injured for much of the last campaign which prevented him from enjoying another loan spell but new City boss Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t seem to favour him either with Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo coming to the club this summer.

Hughes is planning a £5million raid of his former club and will allow the 21 year old to become a key player in the Potters side as he looks to transform the club and dismiss the long ball tag that Tony Pulis thrived upon.

Stoke grabbed their first win under Hughes yesterday as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace at the Britannia Stadium.
