The Metro are reporting that Martin Jol, the manager who sold Sobhi from Al Ahly to Stoke, has told Jose Mourinho to monitor the 19-year-old for the future:
“I sent a message to Jose Mourinho, who is in touch with me, asking him to keep an eye on Ramadan with Stoke City as he is a brilliant player and he can play at Manchester United after that,” said Jol.
“I hope he will succeed in England and I will always support him there.”
Sobhi scored 5 goals in the Egyptian league last season, assisting another 8 for his teammates. He made his international debut before he turned 18, and already has scored for Egypt.
There is plenty of excitement over the potential of Sobhi, and is expected to compete with the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri and Marko Arnautovic for a place in the Potters lineup next season.
But it seems Mourinho has already been told to keep a close eye on the youngster, to maybe cut short his time at Stoke in the near future. The Potters start their new season away at Middlesbrough on August 13th.
