Stoke table formal transfer bid for PL assassin, he wants Britannia move

According to reports from Mirror Football, Stoke City have tabled a £16million transfer bid to sign West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino.

The 22-year-old is rated as one of the most exciting youngsters in the Premier League, having demonstrated his netting prowess with 14 goals during the 2014/15 campaign.

Disagreements with Tony Pulis and chairman Jeremy Peace – harking back to his failed move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer – saw the Burundi-born assassin make just 17 Premier League starts last season, scoring four goals.

But with just a year remaining on his Hawthorns contract, the Baggies face little option but to sell the former England U21 this summer – or else potentially lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season.

According to Mirror Football, Stoke City have already tabled a £16million bid to sign Berahino, but they’re yet to hear back from West Brom.

However, the pacey forward is said to be keen on a move to the Britannia Stadium and will look to push through a deal next week – when he’ll hold crunch talks with the Baggies hierarchy.
