Strike star backed to show Liverpool what they’re missing

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is adamant that links with a winter move to Liverpool will not have an impact on Danny Ings’ performance at Anfield later this week.

The Clarets travel to Merseyside on Wednesday night to take on the Reds, who are undefeated in Premier League action in 2015, as they look to maintain their bid to avoid an immediate drop back to the Championship.

After scoring the lion’s share of the goals for the Turf Moor side this term, Ings is set to be Burnley’s key man as they face Liverpool, who were a club that chased his signature as the last transfer window closed.

The England U-21 star is set to be a free agent when his contract expires in under six months’ time, and Brendan Rodgers’ side reportedly attempted to agree a £4m deal a month ago.

Despite this being his first meeting with the club since the transfer saga, Dyche feels that Ings will not be fazed and can show the top four-chasers what they missed out on:

“His determination has been there for all to see.” He is quoted as saying by the Daily Star when quizzed on the situation.

“He’s had one quiet one and other than that he’s been fantastic.

“I’m sure his determination will be to do his best for Burnley, no matter who it’s against.

“He’ll do that and the rest will take care of itself.”
