Norwich City striker Grant Holt has expressed his anger at the way England boss Roy Hodgson picks his team.

The 31-year-old was believed to be on the verge of a call up for Euro 2012 after he bagged 15 goals in his first Premier League season, but despite this good form, Hodgson still overlooked him and the frustrated forward has all but given up on his international aspirations.

Holt told Sky Sports: "I think I'll never be in it. Roy's come in and picking his players.

"When two friendlies came up and I wasn't included, it was ridiculous to be honest."

Holt also believes he isn't the only Premier League player to be unfairly ignored by the England boss as he approaches two more 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

One player that stands out for the Norwich ace is Rickie Lambert, who already has four Premier League goals for Southampton this season.

"He's scoring the goals. He's done well. But I think any neutral looking at that list [the latest England squad] could have written it down beforehand and not been far off.

"Unless Rickie Lambert scores 25 goals or bags 10 in the next two months I don't think he'll get close," he added.
