As reported by The Daily Mail, Stuart Armstrong is ready to enter into contract discussions with Celtic this summer and has dropped a big hint that he’d be perfectly happy to stay.
Armstrong had a fantastic season in the Hoops, emerging as a first choice central midfielder and scoring a magnificant 17 goals from the middle of the park.
Fans are hoping that he commits his future to the club with just 12 months left of his deal at Celtic Park and it appears that wish will come to fruition, based on his latest comments.
When asked about his contract situation he seemed very positive that a resolution will be found soon.
As quoted by The Daily Mail, Armstrong said:
We’ll take care of that soon. You know, you can never put a time limit on these things. I’ve said that before. These things usually take care of themselves. I think it’s the happiest I’ve been in my footballing career. And I think that is showing on the park, as well. I’m very happy, playing well, playing probably the best football of my life. So it’s all good.
It certainly sounds like he’d be more than happy to sign up to the best years of his career under Brendan Rodgers and who could blame him? With three trophies in the bag last term alone and UEFA Champions League football to come, there is barely a better place for a player of his ability to be.
