Swansea City star Wayne Routledge could be rewarded for his fine club form by earning himself an England call-up by Roy Hodgson ahead of their friendly clash with San Marino, Daily Star reports.
The 29-year-old was also believed to be joined by fellow team-mates Nathan Dyer and Jonjo Shelvey, but as of now, they pair are likely to miss out on a place in the squad.
Routledge is considered a versatile winger, having the ability to perform on either flanks and has already represented his country at the under-16, under-19, and under-21 level.
If he gets selected for Thursday’s match, he would be able to add his first senior Three Lions cap to his resume.
Hodgson was in the stands to watch him play against Southampton in the previous week and is said to be interested in his services for his upcoming friendly and could even face Estonia three days later in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
