Swansea have once again dipped into the Football League with the signing of Jamie Proctor from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.
The striker has signed a two year contract with the Welsh club ahead of a second successive season in the Premier League but is expected to largely feature in the under-21 squad with the season kicking off today.
New Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has had to deal with losing central midfielder Joe Allen this summer, but it seems youth is on his mind.
“I’m delighted to join Swansea,” he told the club’s official website.
“The club has enjoyed a lot of success over the last few years and their style of football has really caught the eye.”
He added: “I’m looking forward to being a part of things and trying to impress the new manager enough to force my way into his plans.”
