Swansea to make former Liverpool boss their new manager

Swansea City are closing in on a deal to bring former boss Brendan Rodgers back to the club, according to The Daily Mail.

The Northern Irishman has been out of work since he was dismissed by Liverpool earlier this season, with Jurgen Klopp taking over at Anfield.

The Swans parted company with Garry Monk and have had Francesco Guidolin in the hotseat since, but the Italian is being tipped to leave the Liberty Stadium at the end of the current campaign.

Rodgers was the man to get the Welsh club promotion to the Premier League and spearheaded a successful inaugural season in the top flight for the Swans.

Following this he left to join Liverpool, but could well be in line to return to the Liberty Stadium after the Welsh club’s underwhelming 2015-16 campaign.

Swansea were in danger of relegation but positive results in recent weeks have assured their Premier League status for another year.
