Terry plays down rift rumours

Former captain John Terry has played down weekend press reports of major splits in the England camp, following a disappointing start to their World Cup finals campaign.

Draws against the USA and Algeria have left England needing a win against Slovenia to make sure of a place in the last 16, but Terry says that there are no problems with head coach Fabio Capello.

He told reporters:"We shouldn't be looking at excuses or criticising the manager.

"We're here, we're supporting and we are fully behind him. We know we've got his support as well and that's the main thing.

"I've seen a few reports myself this morning. Coming here on behalf of the players there's no unrest in the camp at all.

"We're obviously still disappointed from the game the other night, but we have to pick ourselves up. We have to win the game on Wednesday.

"I'm not going to sit here and question manager. All I can say is I'm here on behalf of the team and players and we're all fully behind the manager,

"Since the manager has come in he's had his ways and his philosophies that he's brought to the side.

"That's worked in the campaign and nothing should change from that. We've got to stay unified and stay together and get the win."
