Toffees move in for Mucha

Reports suggest Everton manager David Moyes has agreed a deal to bring Slovakia international goalkeeper Jan Mucha to Goodison Park.

The 27-year-old Legia Warsaw shot-stopper will move to Everton on a permanent deal when his contract runs out in the summer.

Mucha, who had also been linked with a switch to Stoke City, has represented his country on 13 occasions and started six World Cup qualifiers last year. He is expected to be Slovakia's first-choice goalkeeper at this summer's World Cup Finals in South Africa.

Mucha will provide extra competition for Tim Howard and Carlo Nash, while Iain Turner is now expected to leave the club after struggling to break into Moyes' first-team squad.

The 25-year-old moved to the club from Stirling Albion more than six years ago but has made only six first-team appearances for Moyes' side.

He has been loaned out to a string of clubs, including Chester City, Doncaster Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest during his time on Merseyside.
