Everton have completed the loan signing of defender Philippe Senderos from Arsenal on a deal which runs until the end of the season.
Senderos was keen to leave the Gunners in order to boost his international chances with Switzerland in a World Cup year.
The 24-year-old centre-half had made only two first-team appearances for the north London club this term.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's recent decision to re-sign Sol Campbell pushed Senderos further down the pecking order and he has now joined the Toffees on a contract which runs until the end of the season.
"I am delighted to be an Everton player for the remainder of the season," Senderos told evertonTV.
"I can't wait to get stuck in and play for Everton.
"Hopefully I can get some first-team football in during my time here.
"I have spoken to (manager) David Moyes and he hopes to give me opportunities here.
"Hopefully I can grab that opportunity and stay in the team."
