Midfielder Jack Rodwell is the latest injury concern for Everton after limping out of Thursday's 1-0 Europa League defeat by BATE Borisov with a suspected hamstring problem.
Rodwell was one of two first-team regulars named in the side for the Toffees' final group stage game, with their qualification for the knockout round already assured.
But the 18-year-old midfielder lasted less than 10 minutes after appearing to catch his studs in the turf.
Manager David Moyes is already without a raft of first-team regulars for Sunday's meeting with Birmingham City.
Joseph Yobo, Sylvain Distin, Dan Gosling, Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka, Phil Neville, Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan are all currently sidelined through injury.
"It looks as though Jack has a hamstring injury," explained Moyes.
"We will know more on Friday when he will have a scan.
"These things happen in football and you have to get on with it."
