Tottenham are in negotiations to end troublesome Emmanuel Adebayor’s contract at the club, with the potential for the veteran to be released on a free transfer according to The Mirror.
The Togolese forward is on the outskirts of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and the Argentine trainer has made it clear that the 31-year-old has played his last game for the White Hart Lane club.
Adebayor was wanted by both Aston Villa and West Ham in the summer transfer window, but the African refused switch to the duo and continues to collect a bumper wage at White Hart Lane.
The former Manchester City forward has cost Spurs a considerable amount of money already and could well be set for a significant payout to end his time with the club.
Adebayor has been banished to training with the under-21 squad, but negotiations have reportedly been agreed to end his affiliation with the North London outfit and release him to the free agent market.
