Tottenham alerted by Brazilian’s transfer availability

Alexandre Pato (Corinthians)

Tottenham have been boosted in their pursuit of Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato, reports the Metro.

The Brazilain striker could have moved to the Premier League during the summer, only to join Corinthians in his home country.

But his stay at the club could be finished in the January transfer window, after falling out with the club’s coaching staff. The 24-year-old was branded a ‘spoilt child’ by manager Tite, who admitted they could sell the forward at the next possible opportunity:

“We know there is interest in Pato and we don’t rule out selling him in the winter transfer market,’ said Tite.”

Spurs could be limited to just one senior striker in January, with reports suggesting Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe are closing in on moves away from the Lilywhites. And whilst Spurs are thought to have offered AC Milan £18million for Pato in the summer, they aren’t expected to bid such an amount for the star striker in January.

Spurs eventually signed Valencia forward Roberto Soldado, who has scored 4 goals for his new club. But the Spaniard could have a new rival for a first time place in January, should Spurs reignite their interest in Pato.

Tottenham could move to 2nd in the Premier League table with a win over Everton.
