Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have missed out on the signing of Dnipro star Yevhen Konoplyanka after he agreed a move to Sevilla, Express reports.
The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League, but clubs will now be forced to look elsewhere for reinforcements after the La Liga outfit confirmed that a deal has been reached.
“Sevilla have reached an agreement with the player, in the absence of a medical and closing a deal with Dnipro.”
The addition of Konoplyanka is the club’s fourth signing of the summer as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League campaign following their Europa League victory.
However, they will be without the services of star striker Carlos Bacca next season after the Colombia international agreed a deal to join Serie A giants AC Milan.
The Reds were very close to signing the winger earlier in the January window, with the player also revealing his regret over his decision to snub the move.
“I am sorry I didn’t join Liverpool when they wanted me but this Europa League final will help me get over that!” he said.
He featured a total of 42 times in all competitions this past term, scoring eight goals and providing a further seven assists.
