Tottenham and Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi has revealed he often considers retiring from professional football, according to the Express.
The Argentine international has struggled for regular first team football at Paris St Germain, and has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Tottenham and Liverpool have most recently been linked with a cut price £8million deal this January, but Lavezzi has shocked his potential suitors by revealing he is open to an early retirement at just 29.
He said: “Sometimes I think about giving it all up. It’s a thought running through my head today, not just in the past.
“Once I leave football, I will not continue in the world of sport. Right now I don’t know what I might do.
“Certainly the best thing that ties me to football is the possibility of living well, discovering new cultures, and spending time with my family when it’s possible – I enjoy it all the more.
“The worst aspect of it is the environment, everyone is powered by their own interests. It’s not all what it looks like from outside.”
