Both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are ready to poach Dutch attacker Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle should they go down, according to The Express.
The Netherlands international moved to Tyneside from PSV Eindhoven in the summer and has been a rare bright spark for the North East club.
Wijnaldum has scored nine Premier League goals this season, making him Newcastle’s top scorer, and has operated in a number of roles across midfield and in attack.
Rafa Benitez has been brought to St James Park to save the club’s season, with it looking increasingly difficult for the Spaniard to keep his new club in the top tier.
The latest report suggests that Wijnaldum will look to leave the club if relegation occurs and that he will have no shortage of suitors.
The Dutch star cost £14.5 million in the summer and a similar fee would likely be spent by either Spurs or the Hammers if they were to capture him.
