Tottenham begin negotiations over move to sign Arsenal anchorman target

Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be in talks over a deal to sign Arsenal target Godfred Donsah from Cagliari, according to reports from the Metro.

The 18-year-old has caught the eye of a number Premier League clubs due to his ability to use his physique to control the midfield, with the player now being compared to the likes of former Chelsea star Michael Essien, who also happens to be his role model.

Spurs are said to be in pole position to acquire his services, as they are reportedly said to be in talks over a potential deal to bring him to White Hart Lane.

With Arsene Wenger known for his ability to spot young talent, the Gunners have also kept a close eye on the Ghanaian, but with Mauricio Pochettino’s side making a move, they may be forced look elsewhere.

Although quite young, his hard-man playing style is already linking the 18-year-old with a chance to feature for the Tottenham first team in the future.

Donsah has been given seven league starts and appeared a further seven times from the bench this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
