Tottenham Hotspur will be without Hugo Lloris for their next two games after he picked up an injury during the 2-1 victory over Manchester City last weekend, Skysports reports.
The 29-year-old is now set to miss the upcoming Europa League match against Fiorentina later today and is also expected to sit out of the FA Cup fifth round tie against Crystal Palace with a shoulder problem.
Second-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm is set to be called up to take his place, but he will be ready for the challenge given that he has already featured a number of times in various cup competitions this season.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino came out to confirm that Lloris will not feature in the next two matches, but also added that the injury is not too serious.
“The last action of the game against Manchester City, Hugo hurt his shoulder and is out for tomorrow and for Sunday too,” he said.
“It is not a big, big issue; it is a very small injury. It will always impact, Hugo is our captain and it is a very important period for us.
“We know now we have a squad and we believe that Michel is a very good, a top goalkeeper too, and we believe in him and trust in him.”
His side have been on a great run of form recently as they are now second on the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Leicester City in first.
