Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that England wonderkid Dele Alli has a lot to learn after escaping a red card during their 1-1 draw against Fiorentina, according to reports from the Express.
Alli was lucky to only receive a yellow card after kicking Nenad Tomovic in the ribs while the defender was on the ground, going on to help keep the Serie A side at bay to hold on to a 1-1 draw in Italy.
Belgium international Nacer Chadli scored the Lilywhites’ goal from the spot-kick, but a brilliant strike from Federico Bernardeschi levelled the tie ahead of the second leg next week.
However, after the game much of the talk was in regards to Alli’s incident, and Pochettino has admitted that the young midfielder still has a lot to learn in the world of football.
He said: “I will try to teach him. It’s important for every young player to learn a lot about professional football.
“For him it’s his first season in the Premier League. He came from League One [MK Dons]. He needs to learn a lot. He is still learning.”
There is no Premier League action this weekend, but Spurs face Crystal Palace in an FA Cup tie on Saturday.
