Mauricio Pochettino is confident Christian Eriksen will sign a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Danish international has been locked in talks with the club officials over a new deal, but the Guardian are reporting that his manager has no doubt the deal will happen.
Eriksen still has two years remaining on his deal, and Pochettino believes the midfielder has no interest in leaving White Hart Lane:
“Always, the players are involved in different things but they are very professional. We are very happy with him. We will see what happens in the next few weeks. He has two more years and he is happy here. It’s just a question of time to agree a new contract.” Said Pochettino.
Eriksen scored 8 league goals last season from 35 outings, and was a key figure in their attempts to win the Premier League last year. His set piece delivery has also been key for Spurs, assisting the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
The Dane played all 90 minutes for Spurs in their 1-1 draw with Everton, but his teammate Hugo Lloris won’t be involved on the weekend against Crystal Palace, after suffering a hamstring injury at Goodison Park.
