Tottenham boss ignoring transfer talk

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas Boas is unfazed by transfer talk surrounding the club and remains focussed on the players currently at his disposal, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Portuguese boss appears to have missed on Brazilian Willian from Anzhi as he is set to sign on at Chelsea despite having a medical at Spurs earlier this week.

Gareth Bale’s fiasco is still dominating AVB’s press conferences too but until the deal is done to either sell or keep the Welsh winger, Villas-Boas wants to focus on what happens on the pitch.

Spurs cruised to victory in the Europa League in midweek and are hoping to make it three wins from three so far this season at home to Swansea on Sunday.

“I don’t think the team will be distracted by the transfers,” said Villas-Boas.

“What we’ve done so far has been great activity in the transfer window, we managed to bring in almost all the players that we want and will continue to work to strengthen the squad.

“The players look very determined to achieve our objectives this season because of last season’s tally of points and not being able to achieve it.”
