Sherwood claims that chairman Daniel Levy has offered him the chance to spend some cash but the new Spurs boss politely turned it down.
Jermain Defoe is set to join Toronto next month and Lewis Holtby left for Fulham, reducing the options for Spurs in an attacking sense.
When Sherwood was handed the White Hart Lane job he stated that he didn’t want January signings and that he would let a few squad players leave.
True to his word, Sherwood rejected the chance to enter the transfer market as he feels his current squad is more than good enough to make the top four.
“To be fair Daniel’s always asking: ‘Are you sure you don’t need to strengthen in this area? Can I help you in this or that area?’ I’m saying: ‘Look, I’m confident in the players we’ve got and I don’t need any help to strengthen, thanks very much’.
“I think I’ve said from day one that we’ve got a lot of players at the club, and I’ve not changed my opinions just because it’s deadline day.”
