Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has urged Harry Kane to reject advances from Manchester United in favour of a club stay, Express reports.
The 22-year-old was a target for manager Louis van Gaal earlier in the summer as he was looking to add more strikers into his squad after letting a few of his players leave.
United saw Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie leave to join Chelsea and Fenerbahce respectively, with the future of Javier Hernandez was also in doubt.
They were even believed to be preparing a bid around the £40million region in hopes of luring Kane away from White Hart Lane.
However, Pochettino is a huge fan of the England international and has told him to snub a move to Old Trafford in favour of succeeding with his current side.
“Any doubts about his commitment are gone, he is delighted to stay,” he said.
“He is a big supporter of the club. He is very happy and we are very happy he is with us.
“He’s excited to start the season with us. We have very ambitious players.
“We need to keep this mentality, try to build a tough and very strong group for the next few years to try and achieve important things.”
The forward was in sensational form last term, featuring a total of 51 times in all competitions, scoring 31 goals while providing a further six assists.
