Tottenham have announced that former Barcelona youth player Cristian Ceballos has joined the club on a free transfer.
The 18-year-old impressed whilst on trial at the White Hart Lane club, and has also trained with Chelsea since being released from his contract from the Spanish giants at the end of 2010/11.
The attacker shot to fame when he was filmed juggling a ball with former Camp Nou superstar Ronaldinho, but failed to live up to expectations or challenge for a first team squad place. The Spaniard will now go into the London club’s development program, and technical director Tim Sherwood is happy to have the prospect in the process.
“Cristian trained hard and showed some real quality when he originally spent time here towards the end of last season and was even involved in some of the first-team training. There was other interest in him too. He needs to be patient and if he can fulfil his potential we believe he can play at the top level,” the former midfielder is reported to have stated in Sky Sports.
