Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a move for Lille star Sofiane Boufal in the January transfer window, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Boufal was being monitored by Spurs during the summer, however the Lilywhites chose to pursue other targets but have continued keeping an eye on the attacking midfielder.
The Morroco international has already been compared with another former Lille youngster Eden Hazard, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2012 for a massive £32million fee.
His team-mate and captain Rio Mavuba said: “He reminds me of Eden when he was playing here. It is striking. But he is young, you have to let him grow.”
However, despite the similarities, Boufal is set to cost significantly less than Hazard if he was to make a move.
The 22-year-old started his career with Angers in 2010, and only joined Lille earlier this year in January.
But Boufal has already become an important player for the club, making eight appearances in the current Ligue-1 campaign, scoring three goals in the process.
