Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make another attempt at signing West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino in the January window, Daily Star reports.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to White Hart Lane during the summer as the player was even said to have put in a transfer request.
However, despite Berahino also revealing his intentions to go on strike, West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace stood firm in his decision to keep hold of his star man.
Even though Spurs failed in their attempts to land the striker, manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to make another move for his services given his intentions to sign one more forward.
“We never speak in public about another club’s player. We need to show respect. But of course we are interested in different players – that is our job,” he said.
“I recognise they other than Harry Kane we do not have a specific striker.
“So maybe we work to try to find such a player we can add in the next transfer window or in the summer to try to help the team.
The English attacker has registered eight starts and three substitute appearances this term, so far managing to score three goals in the process.
Pochettino is likely to get the chance to watch Berahino up close given that his side will travel to the Hawthorns this weekend to face West Brom in the Premier League.
