Tottenham Hotspur are not alone in the race to sign Gokhan Tore from Besiktas, with Atletico Madrid believed to be preparing to make an offer, according to reports from Talksport.
Turkish media have speculated that Atletico are planning to make an initial £12million bid in order to lure the 23-year-old to Spain.
They are said to have been monitoring the situation of the Turkey international after sending club scouts to watch him play in a number of matches.
Tore’s form has helped his team to the top of the Turkish Super Lig, with the youngster making 17 starts while scoring three goals in the process.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is also interested in the services of right midfielder, but will have to go head-to-head with Madrid for his signature, also taking into account the La Liga champions’ bid.
Tore rose through the ranks at Chelsea ahead of spells playing with Hamburger SV and Rubin Kazan, before completing a move to Besiktas at the beginning of the current campaign.
