Tottenham face competition from a host of Europe’s elite clubs over the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, according to TalkSport.
The Internacional striker is rated amongst the best in South American football and is widely expected to make a move to Europe after his agent declared the player would be sold if the right offer was made.
Damiao’s agent Vinicius Prates said: “In January, the club and the player decided to continue with a view to the Copa Libertadores, but in July the situation could change – if there is a good deal for the club and the player.”
Tottenham are looking to bolster their attacking options with the future of Emmanuel Adebayor unclear but the Brazilian has also had interested in him for Inter Milan, Juventus and PSG, who are all expected to make bids for the striker.
Tottenham have dealt with Internacional before when they signed midfielder Sandro in 2010, which may put them in a better position than some of their rivals for the Brazilians signature.
Spurs have also taken the Brazilian Under 20 world cup winning centre back Bruno Uvini on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
