Tottenham Hotspur star Clinton Njie will be unable to feature for three months after picking up a knee injury, Daily Star reports.
The 22-year-old suffered the knock during the 4-1 Europa League win over Monaco earlier this month and is now set to miss out on the busy schedule heading into the New Year.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the injury by stating that he is unsure of the actual duration Njie will be out, but because it is located in the knee, he is expected to be out for around three months.
“You never know because every day it’s about how the knee responds but maybe two months or a little bit more he will be out,” he said.
The forward completed a £12million deal from Lyon during the summer, but has not been able to hold down a regular role due to the form of star man Harry Kane.
He is yet to start a Premier League match this term, so far making seven substitute appearances and has been able to provide one assist.
Spurs have picked up a good run of results recently as they find themselves sitting fourth on the league table heading into their upcoming clash against Norwich City.
